Brandywine Roller Girls vs Two Rivers Roller Derby
For the final bout of the season, Two Rivers traveled to take on the Brandywine Roller Girls on November 15, 2015. With much anticipation for this second match against Brandywine for the season, we trained hard making sure that we go home with a win.
Brandywine put up a very good defense. We are two very well matched teams. Though lead Jammer status kept alternating between the two teams, Two Rivers kept in the lead throughout the game. But it was getting very close at times!
We have our coach, Greg, to show for our improvements. He has been a huge part of our success as a team.
Yoshi Ground Pound played in her last competitive game this year. She plans on retiring, but will continue to remain a part of our team.
“The game we played against Brandywine was an awesome game. There was great teamwork in every jam and as I sat on the bench waiting to go in the next jam, I was in awe of how we were playing. I thought that I was going to be an uncontrollable crying mess after the game but I shed no tears for myself. I was proud of what Two Rivers has become and how far some of my teammates have come as well. Seeing our fresh players on the sidelines, as engaged as they were, was exciting. They are our future and I want to help them get to their bout day!” ~Yoshi
Two Rivers did what we came to do, go home with a win! 184 point for Two Rivers to 165 points for Brandywine.
Thank you to all our family, friends and fans for coming out and supporting us this season. We can’t wait to kick off the 2016 season right where we left off! We wish everyone safe and happy holidays! We will see you on the track next year!
