Two Rivers Roller Derby vs. Bux-Mont Roller Derby Dolls
Two Rivers Roller Derby season home opener was full of bashin’ and crashin’! Bux-Mont Roller Derby Dolls came on the track with strong hits and solid defensive walls, but Two Rivers fought back to defend our rink! With our good endurance and stamina we kept up the fight to the very end.
The fans went crazy for this high impact and exciting bout. I’m sure seeing girls knocked down and bounce back up as fast as they fell keeps a crowd pleased! Even though Bux-Mont won with 247 to 210 for Two Rivers, they admitted that this was one of the most competitive games they have ever played!
Two Rivers welcomes Jo Rolling to her first bout ever! She was thrown into some rough waters but made it through positive and ready for more!
“I forgot my skates. Luckily, I borrowed a teammate’s for warm up, and my parents brought me mine in time for the bout. Weirdly, forgetting my skates actually made me feel better. I could literally not do anything dumber and more awful that day. When the bout itself got started, I was still nervous, of course, but my dumb and awful thing had already happened. So I lined up, I stayed on my skates as much as I could, and got back up fast when I couldn’t. I got hit a lot, and I didn’t play much. It’s all a blur to me, really. But what I do know is that I can’t wait to do it again, and better next time. And I’ll remember my skates.” – Jo Rolling
Congratulation Two Rivers MVPs, Sukkubus Strixe as Jammer and Carnage as blocker!
“I’m so proud of how Two Rivers played on Saturday, especially in the extreme heat and humidity. Bux-Mont was formidable opponents who played a very physical game. We played hard as well, but there were a couple jams our defense lacked which gave them the opportunity to score crucial points that eventually led to their victory. We look forward to playing Bux-Mont in the future because we now have a better idea of their style of game play. This loss will motivate us to work even harder the rest of this season so we are ready for them when we meet again.” –Sukkubus Strixe
“Bux Mont was a good, hard fight and despite being ejected before the end of the game, they definitely left their mark physically and mentally”. -Carnage
More derby to come and a lot of it!
